Graduate of S.C. State College. Degrees – B.S. and M.E.D. A member of the N.A.T.A., N.S.C.A, and A.F.A.A. Worked with the Miami Dolphins as an athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach from 1975-1996. I’ve been with Graham Company and the Athletic Club for the past 20 years.

Since infancy Brian had a passion for sports, which lead him into becoming a certified fitness coach. Brian is currently enrolled at FIU studying Marine Biology and will continue to keep learning as much as he can in the health & fitness field to always incorporate it in his life and help others reach their goals.

Annette started teaching fitness classes in 1981 and she has 30 years’ experience. She has been employed at Shula’s Athletic Club since day 1 of operations on October 1982. Currently she is the Fitness Director and is also a Fitness Instructor. Some of Annette’s other experiences are in the capacity of Wellness Coordinator, Personal Trainer, and Personal Services Manager at Doral Spa. From 1988-1989 Annette was the Assistant Media Director for the Lipton International Players Championship in Key Biscayne.

Ana Roche

Rhythmic Gymnastics Coach

Ana started her sport career at the age of 5 in her home town in La Havana, Cuba. She participated in many regional and national competitions, winning gold medals. At a young age, 11, she was chosen to begin professional training in the national school of gymnastics and began competing at International Junior Tournaments. At the age of 14, she was selected to be a member of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Cuban Olympic Team. She has been coaching Rhythmic Gymnastics for more than 25 years. She has taught clinics and judged all around the U.S.A. Presently, Ana is head coach of Shula's Athletic Club's Rhythmic Gymnastics Program and an active member of the U.S.G.F.

Ricky has been in the fitness industry for over twenty years, He has been a personal trainer, manager, consultant, and educator. Ricky has found success because of his willingness to learn more and accept change. Currently he provides educational work-shops for the fitness staff of many facilities in Miami-Dade County and also teaches N.A.S.M. curriculum to students enabling them to become certified fitness specialists. Ricky’s aim is to teach everyone how to achieve and maintain their goal of optimal, wellness, fitness and well-being. His reward is being able to see others pass down the information and contribute to the health of many.

Stefan Valdez

"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard"
Stefan has resided in Miami Lakes since he was born. Throughout his youth, he participated in both Miami Lakes Optimist and Shula's Sports Programs. His passion for sports, especially basketball, blossomed when he joined his high school varsity basketball team and led him to coach basketball at the optimist program for many years. His passion continued when he went to the University of Florida and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. During his time there, Stefan worked closely with the Florida Gators Basketball program as a Video Operations Assistant. He ultimately accepted a position as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Gators' Men's and Women's basketball, golf, and tennis teams. Stefan, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, through the NSCA. Always looking to further his knowledge, he is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami.

Jamie Thomas

Athletic Director

"Help others achieve their dreams and you will achieve yours." Jamie Thomas moved from Columbus Ohio to Miami Florida. He studied Social Work, youth counseling, and youth ministries at Ohio Christian University and proceeded to work in the social work environment where he began creating, developing, and implementing youth programs for every type of youth from suburban, inner city, as well as at risk youth. Passionate for changing lives in a positive way one kid at a time. In 2008, Jamie began working for Shula's Athletic Club and the Graham Companies as the Athletic Director where he built a brand new for the first time ever, youth sports programs such as basketball, flag football, and soccer from the ages of 3 to 18 serving over a thousand kids per year in sports leagues and skill programs.


John Bradley

Tennis Professional

"It's never too late to get into Tennis!" John has been apart of the Shula's family since he was eight years old. Last year we brought John on as a Tennis Professional. He grew up playing USTA and High School tournaments all across Florida.  He will push you the next level of your game not only technique wise but also physically and mentally. John has worked with kids as young as 4 years old. He wants to see you be the best you can be on the court.
